I know, before any comments to say what day it actually is, I know it is Monday. I couldn’t find room yesterday to post a blog entry
But I have that room today
OK, I am a extremely large fan of Christmas, and every year I spend about 800 hours on websites about Christmas. And so I decided to start a Christmas mini-game. It is called Xmas Eve, and will involve a few mini games aimed mainly at children aged 3 – 10. We are about 60% complete, and we even have a publisher – http://www.emailsanta.com ! We will have it completed and ready to be published by the 25th of November, and we hope you all are interested in playing it
Ok, To start with from now on, every Sunday, we will update you with as much as we possibly can
OK, first thing to tell you about would be our wonderful new piece of concept art which we will show you all: It is a axe, which most Pharaohs would have used back in the Ancient Egyptian times. The main character from Timensions is from Ancient Egypt, so it fits in fine
Here is the concept art:
It is quite cool, and worth showing (compared to the stick men in most of our concept works ). That is part 1 out of the way
Now onto part 2. An Animation update And that also means another video! It has been an entire 2 weeks since our last video update, and last time it was a simple walk sequence. We have sorted the animation out a bit, and added a few more, to make him more human. The video is available on Vimeo and YouTube.

Yeah, you read right. Unity3 is out now! I made this blog entry just to show you all the awesomeness of the new features
I am sure most readers of this blog are familiar with the Unity game engine, and how cool it is. Well now it is even cooler!
The new version of Unity comes with many cool new features, as seen in the videos below:
And many, many more, found at blogs.unity3d.com
I have just finished installing it myself, and before I finish this blog entry, I would like to say a very grateful and very loving thank you to the entire team at Unity Technologies.
Well, here is some concept art that I am going to show you all.
I will say a little about each image.
Image 1:
This is the concept art for the Aliens, the main enemies in Timensions. They are the guys who brought the Dinosaurs back, and they are the guys who want to kill all humans. he is just a normal soldier. That is why he is only equipped with this:
This is the weapon the alien soldiers will have. It is similar to a human pistol, but it has multiple modes, each mode has different ammo ( such as lasers, bullets, fire, etc). Each Alien Soldier will have one of these weapons, and you will have the ability to take it from them once you have killed them.
So, that is all. I hope you like the look of the weapon and the enemy, COMMENT BELOW and tell me what you think of them.
Overview of Unity 3D Game Development by Example Beginner’s Guide
Beginner game developers are wonderfully optimistic, passionate, and ambitious. But that ambition is often dangerous! Too often, budding indie developers and hobbyists bite off more than they can chew. Some of the most popular games in recent memory – Doodle Jump, Paper Toss, and Canabalt, to name a few – have been fun, simple games that have delighted players and delivered big profits to their creators. This is the perfect climate for new game developers to succeed by creating simple games with Unity 3D, starting today.
This book starts you off on the right foot, emphasizing small, simple game ideas and playable projects that you can actually finish. The complexity of the games increases gradually as we progress through the chapters. The chosen examples help you learn a wide variety of game development techniques. With this understanding of Unity 3D and bite-sized bits of programming, you can make your own mark on the game industry by finishing fun, simple games.
This book shows you how to build crucial game elements that you can reuse and re-skin in many different games, using the phenomenal (and free!) Unity 3D game engine. It initiates you into indie game culture by teaching you how to make your own small, simple games using Unity3D and some gentle, easy-to-understand code. It will help you turn a rudimentary keep-up game into a madcap race through hospital hallways to rush a still-beating heart to the transplant ward, program a complete 2D game using Unity’s User Interface controls, put a dramatic love story spin on a simple catch game, and turn that around into a classic space shooter with spectacular explosions and “pew” sounds! By the time you’re finished, you’ll have learned to develop a number of important pieces to create your own games that focus in on that small, singular piece of joy that makes games fun.
This book shoots straight for the heart of fun, simple game design and keeps shooting until you have all the pieces you need to assemble your own great games.
Build fun games using the free Unity 3D game engine even if you’ve never coded before
Learn how to “skin” projects to make totally different games from the same file – more games, less effort!
Deploy your games to the Internet so that your friends and family can play them
Packed with ideas, inspiration, and advice for your own game design and development
Stay engaged with fresh, fun writing that keeps you awake as you learn
Unity Prefabs is an amazing site. We are using their 3rd person Overview camera for Timensions. Their prefabs are always top quality, and easy as pie to incorporate into a game.
And now they are selling clothes and accessories?
Yup, I’m not lying. They decided “us game developers need to come out of our bunkers and show the world our true face”. So they teamed up with Miktek Studios and made the coolest clothes you will EVER find! Here is their wonderful collection:
For code-monkeys:
For art-school drop-outs:
For those that *already* made $10 on the App Store:
Done that, got the T-shirt…
For if you’re really pushing it (…) Yeah. It’s that cool:
